TANK COMPANY

1st BATTALION 14TH ARMORED CAVALRY REGIMENT

 DOWNS BARRACKS FULDA, GERMANY  1956-62

Tank Company was a fast moving hard hitting Cavalry unit that would make the Warsaw Pack pay dearly for any incursion into the Fulda Gap. Equipped with the US Cavalry's Main Battle Tank the M48 it could punish the Russian and East German Armies severely should it become necessary in it roll as the Eyes and Ears of NATO. The Officers and NCO's were well trained and many were veterans of the Korean War and ready to do their duty in defending Western Europe.
